Workforce Development Month was instituted by Governor McMaster to showcase the talent of South Carolina’s workforce, promote more opportunities to connect job seekers with employers and celebrate the vibrant industries throughout the state.
“Our region is home to great career paths, from advanced manufacturing to healthcare,” said BCDCOG Workforce Development Director Sharon Goss. “SC Works Trident is grateful to once again collaborate with our economic development partners to equip job seekers to take advantage of the career opportunities available.”
More on the partnership from our economic development partners:
“Berkeley County Economic Development is proud to team up with our neighboring counties to help connect our workforce members with career opportunities that meet individual skill sets,” said Berkeley County Economic Development Workforce Development Manager Corey McClary. “We greatly value our industry partners who call Berkeley County home and invest in the lives of our citizens. By offering people quality, high-paying jobs, they swing open for them the door to career success.”
“September is Workforce Development Month—a time to invest in the skills and potential of our communities,” stated Michelle McDonald, Deputy Director for Dorchester County Economic Development. “We are excited to host our annual Career Fair on September 18th for community members to connect directly with employers and discover the many opportunities here in Dorchester County. By empowering individuals with the resources they need to succeed, we build a stronger, more resilient economy that benefits everyone. Together, we can strengthen our community and our economy.”
“As the Charleston region continues to grow as a leading economic hub, the Tri-County area is uniting to support residents and businesses,”said Charleston County Economic Development Deputy Director Ashley Richardson. “Workforce Development Month offers a unique opportunity to highlight job seekers, connect with top employers, and explore exciting career paths.
