SC WORKS TRIDENT TO HOST OPEN-AIR JOB FAIR
NOV. 5 EVENT BRINGS JOB OPPORTUNITIES WITH 12 EMPLOYERS
(Oct. 29, 2020) – SC Works Trident will host an open-air job fair hiring event on Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its main center located at 1930 Hanahan Road in North Charleston.
With 12 area employers to include Fruit of the Loom, Comfort Keepers and W International, SC Works Trident is looking to boost employment in the region. More than 300 job-seekers participated in a similar event held in September.
“We want to provide another opportunity to facilitate convenient and safe connections between job-seekers and employers,” said Sharon Goss, Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments Workforce Development director. “Nearly 5 percent of individuals in the Lowcountry remain unemployed or underemployed as of September 30, so we are aiming to create new paths for them to find their next steps to employment.”
SC Works Trident encourages attendees to be prepared for the event by following these guidelines:
- Update resume before the fair
- Pre-register for the event at scworkstrident.org/openairjobfair
- Bring resume copies to leave with employers
Those who do not pre-register should be prepared to provide information to on-site staff. SC Works Trident will provide resume assistance to job seekers interested in the event. Those looking for help can book an appointment with a career coach at scworkstrident.org/scheduler.
