SC Works Trident to Host Two-Day Public Service Career Fair During Workforce Development Month
NORTH CHARLESTON (Sept. 1, 2023) – SC Works Trident will host a two-day public service career fair on Sept. 12 and 13 to celebrate Workforce Development Month.
The purpose of the two-day career fair is to provide Government and Public Service agencies, including local cities, municipalities, and counties the opportunity to showcase their available positions within the Tri-County region.
“Public service agencies and employers are a vital segment of our workforce,” said BCDCOG Workforce Development Director Sharon Goss. “SC Works Trident is grateful to showcase these rewarding career opportunities to both local and national job seekers during this special two-day event.”
The event will feature both in-person and online opportunities for job seekers and employers to participate.
- Register for the in-person career fair on September 12
- Register for the virtual career fair on September 13
The in-person career fair will take place on Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Charleston Area Convention Center.
High school seniors from all four Trident region school districts will have the opportunity to connect with government employers to discuss job opportunities available upon graduation during an exclusive session from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Following the conclusion of the High School senior portion, the event will be open to the public from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. During this time, government and local public service employers will be on site to recruit employees, provide information on benefits offered and conduct interviews.
The virtual portion of the career fair will take place on Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will serve as a pipeline to reach potential candidates outside of the region, extending nationwide.
To maximize the benefits of the event, attendees should observe the following guidelines:
- Bring an updated resume to the hiring event
- Be prepared for an on-site interview
- Email updated resume to employers, if needed
